foto/walks is a collaboration between Common Waves CIC & Bridging The Gap Together. It began after the COVID-19 lockdown as a way to support adults with autism and complex mental health issues reengage with nature and the outside world. Now in its fourth season, the programme includes structured walks in and around the Somerset landscape. Each themed session begins with a brief look at a photobook or publication to instigate a sharing of ideas and thoughts between participants. During the initial run friendships within the group blossomed, and as confidence grew we decide to publish a selection of the work, collaborating on the production of a photobook. Since then we have ended each project with an exhibition - this year working towards showing a selection of work at The Common Room and at Weston General Hospital as part of Photo Weston 25.
